KeepUp Terms of Use
Updated
These terms are an agreement between you and KeepUp Lab about using the KeepUp app. By starting to use the app, you accept them.
1. Who we are
KeepUp is made by sole proprietor 킵업랩 (KeepUp Lab), business registration number 447-37-01577, Incheon, Republic of Korea. Contact: [email protected].
KeepUp is an app for preparing for the KIIP social integration program (사회통합프로그램): Korean lessons with Minji, the AI teacher, exercises and mock exams.
2. Age
You can use KeepUp from the age of 14.
3. Account and guest sign-in
- You can study as a guest: an account without an email is created automatically, and your progress is stored on the server, but you cannot open it on another phone or after reinstalling the app.
- An account with an email and password keeps your progress and lets you sign in on any phone. Do not share your password with others; you are responsible for what is done in your account, unless it happened through our fault.
- Use your real email address: sign-in codes are sent to it.
4. Free level and subscription
- Free: the "Hangul" level, lesson 1, and reviewing what you have already studied. While the beta lasts, the whole course is free for everyone who has an account; we will tell you in the app in advance before payments start.
- The subscription unlocks all lessons and mock exams: ₩14,900 per month, ₩143,000 per year, prices including VAT. The App Store or Google Play shows the exact price in your currency, including taxes, before you buy.
- Free trial: 7 days free for a new subscription, once. Before you buy, the store shows when the trial ends and how much you will be charged after it. If you do not cancel it before it ends, the paid subscription starts; we will remind you about this in the app in advance.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it. The app store charges your Apple or Google account.
- Cancellation: in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings, at least 24 hours before the end of the paid period. The app itself cannot cancel a subscription. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds follow the rules of the store you paid through: Apple — reportaproblem.apple.com, Google Play — via Google Play Help. We do not receive payment details, and the store returns the money. If the store refuses, but you have a right to a refund under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, write to us and we will help you get it. These terms do not limit your consumer rights under the law.
- Price changes are announced in the app at least 30 days in advance. For an existing subscription, the new price applies only after notice and with your consent where the law or the store requires it; without your consent, the subscription does not renew at the new price.
- Deleting your account or the app does not cancel your subscription.
5. The AI teacher
- Minji is an artificial intelligence, not a person. Her replies and checks are generated by an OpenAI model.
- AI can make mistakes: in Korean, in explanations, in facts, in grading your answer. If a reply seems odd, double-check it and write to us.
- Mock exam results and exercise scores are for learning only. We do not promise that you will pass the exam or get a visa, permanent residence or citizenship.
- What the AI receives about you is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. KeepUp is not a government program
KeepUp is an independent private app. It is not affiliated with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea (법무부), the KIIP social integration program (사회통합프로그램), or the socinet.go.kr and kiiptest.org websites, and it does not speak on their behalf. The mock exams in the app do not give official scores, levels or certificates: only the government issues those. The rules for KIIP, visas, permanent residence and citizenship change — check them with official sources.
7. Rules of conduct
You may not:
- insult Minji, or send gibberish and spam;
- try to get around limits, get other people's data, hack or overload the service, or access it with programs instead of the app;
- copy, sell or publish course materials;
- use KeepUp for illegal purposes.
What happens if you break the rules: for insults, two warnings, and the third closes lessons for 24 hours; for spam, a warning from the third such message in a row, and the fifth in a row closes lessons for 24 hours.
For serious or repeated violations we may close access to your account and delete it. Before that, we will write to your account's email (if it has one), explain the reason and give you 7 days to reply and object. We act immediately, without this period, only for gross violations: hacking, illegal content, threats to other people or to the service.
8. Materials and rights
The lessons, texts, audio, images, characters and the app itself belong to KeepUp Lab or are used under license. We give you a personal, non-commercial right to use them in the app. Your messages and answers remain yours; you allow us to process them to run your learning, as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Account deletion
- You can delete your account at any time: "Profile" → "Delete account". Deletion is immediate, complete and cannot be undone. How to do it: see How to delete your account.
- A guest account in which no lesson has been started is deleted automatically once more than 90 days have passed since both its creation and its last sign-in.
- We may delete your account for breaking these terms, following the procedure in section 7.
10. How the service works
KeepUp is currently in beta. We are improving the course, so lessons, features and limits may change. The service may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance or outages on our side or our providers' side.
11. Liability
We are liable for the operation of KeepUp to the extent set by the law of the Republic of Korea. We are not liable for indirect losses or for decisions made solely on the basis of AI answers. This does not limit our liability for intent or gross negligence, or your consumer rights under the law.
12. Changes to these terms
We will announce new terms in the app or on the website at least 7 days before they take effect, or 30 days before if they make your position worse. In the notice, we will state explicitly that continuing to use KeepUp after that date means you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. Write to us first, and we will try to resolve the issue. A dispute that cannot be resolved this way is heard by the court that has jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act of the Republic of Korea.
Version of 27 October 2026, in effect from 27 October 2026. The Russian, English and Korean texts have the same meaning; if they differ, the Korean version prevails.
